Filipino Vegan Giniling "No Meat" Recipe

I can't find any recipe out there and I did a little experiment and it turns out great so my lunch for today is Vegan Giniling using Green Lentils.

So I will gonna show you how I cook this traditional Filipino food. I think this is common method but I'll show you anyway.

Ingredients

  • 1 cup of Green Lentils
  • 2 pcs Tomato sauce
  • 1 small pack of Mixed Vegetables
  • 2 cloves of Garlic
  • 1/2 White Onion
  • 3 cups of Water
  • Pinched of Salt
  • 1/2 Tbsp of Sugar

How to cook

  1. Rinse 1 cup of Green Lentils with water and place it in a pan with 3 cups of Water then bring to boil. Lower the heat and cook it for about 30-45 minutes.
  2. Drain the water and set a side
  3. Chop Garlic and Onion and cook it in small amount of oil until it turns golden brown.
  4. Place 1 small pack of Mixed vegetables in the Pan and a small amount of water just to submerge the vegetables.
  5. Let the vegetables cook for about 5-10 minutes.
  6. Add Green lentils, Tomato sauce, sugar & salt  into the pan and wait until it boils.
  7. Serve now and Enjoy Filipino Vegan Giniling "No Meat"
That's how I do it. Hope you enjoy my simple recipe.
